वसुदेव सुतं देवं कंसचाणूर मर्दनम् ।
देवकी परमानन्दं कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥ 1 ॥
वसुदेव के पुत्र; कंस एवं चाणूर का मर्दन करनेवाले, देवकी माता को परमानंद देनेवाले और संपूर्ण जगत के गुरु, भगवान श्रीकृष्ण को मेरा नमन है।

अतसीपुष्पसंकाशं हारनूपुरशोभितम् ।

संपूर्ण विश्व के गुरु, भगवान श्री कृष्ण को मेरा नमस्कार, जिनका रंग अतसी के फूल जैसा है, जो माला और पायल से सुशोभित हैं, और जो रत्न-जड़ित कंगन और बाजूबंद पहनते हैं।
My salutations to Lord Shri Krishna, the Guru of the entire world, whose complexion is similar to the Atasi (Linum usitatissimum) flower, who is adorned with a garland and anklets, and who wears gem-studded bangles and armlets.
कुटिलालकसंयुक्तं पूर्णचन्द्रनिभाननम् ।
विलसत्कुण्डलधरं कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥ 3 ॥
घुंघराले बालों से सुशोभित, पूर्णिमा के चंद्रमा के समान मुख वाले और चमकते हुए कुंडल पहनने वाले, जगतगुरु, भगवान श्री कृष्ण को मेरा नमस्कार है।

मन्दारगन्धसंयुक्तं चारुहासं चतुर्भुजम् ।
बर्हिपिञ्छावचूडाङ्गं कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥ 4 ॥
मंदार पुष्पों की मधुर सुगंध वाले, सुंदर मुस्कान वाले, चार हाथों वाले (भगवान विष्णु के रूप में) और जिनका सिर मोर-पंखों से सुशोभित है, ऐसे विश्व गुरु, भगवान श्री कृष्ण को मेरा नमस्कार है।
My salutations to the world Guru, Lord Shri Krishna, who has the sweet fragrance of Mandara flowers, who has pretty smile, who has four arms (in the form of Lord Vishnu), and whose head is decorated with peacock-feathers.
उत्फुल्लपद्मपत्राक्षं नीलजीमूतसन्निभम् ।
यादवानां शिरोरत्नं कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥ 5 ॥
जिनकी आंखें खिले हुए कमल के पत्तों के समान हैं, जो नीले बादल जैसे दीखते हैं, और जो यादव कुल के मस्तकमणि हैं, ऐसे जगतगुरु, भगवान श्री कृष्ण को मेरा नमस्कार है।

रुक्मिनीकेलिसंयुक्तं पीताम्बरसुशोभितम् ।
अवाप्ततुलसीगन्धं कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥ 6 ॥
जो रुक्मिणी के साथ क्रीड़ारत हैं, जो पीले वस्त्रों से सुशोभित हैं और जिनके पास तुलसी की सुगंध है, ऐसे जगतगुरु, भगवान श्रीकृष्ण को मेरा नमस्कार है।

गोपिकानां कुचद्वन्द्व कुंकुमाङ्कितवक्षसम् ।
श्री निकेतं महेष्वासं कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥ 7 ॥
जिनकी छाती पर गोपियों के दोनों स्तनों के केसर के निशान हैं, जो लक्ष्मी के साथ रहते हैं, और जो एक महान धनुर्धर हैं, ऐसे जगतगुरु, भगवान श्रीकृष्ण को मेरा नमस्कार है।

जिनकी चौड़ी छाती पर श्रीवत्स (लक्ष्मी जी) का चिन्ह है, जो वन पुष्पों की माला से सुशोभित हैं, और जो शंख एवं चक्र धारण करते हैं, ऐसे जगतगुरु, भगवान श्री कृष्ण को मेरा नमस्कार है।

कृष्णाष्टकमिदं पुण्यं प्रातरुत्थाय यः पठेत् ।
कोटिजन्मकृतं पापं स्मरणेन विनश्यति ॥
यदि कोई प्रतिदिन सुबह उठकर भगवान कृष्ण की इस दिव्य प्रार्थना का पाठ करता है और उनका स्मरण करता है, तो करोड़ों जन्मों के पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं।

भजे व्रजैकमण्डनं समस्तपापखण्डनं
स्वभक्तचित्तरंजनं सदैव नन्दनन्दनम् ।
सुपिच्छगुच्छमस्तकं सुनादवेणुहस्तकं
अनङ्गरङ्गसागरम् नमामि कृष्णनागरम् ॥ 1 ॥
जो व्रज भूमि के एकमात्र आभूषण हैं, जो सभी पापों को नष्ट कर देते हैं, जो अपने भक्तों के ह्रदय को प्रसन्न करते हैं, और जो नंद के पुत्र हैं, उन श्री कृष्ण को मैं भजता/भजती हूँ। जिनका सिर मोर पंखों से सुशोभित है, जिनके हाथ में मधुर बांसुरी है, और जो कामदेव की लीलाओं (नृत्य और संगीत जैसी आनंद की कला) के सागर हैं, ऐसे ज्ञानी श्री कृष्ण को नमस्कार है।
I sing the praise of Shri Krishna, who is the sole ornament of the land of Vraja, who destroys all sins, who delights his devotees’ hearts, and who is Nanda’s son. Salutations to the intelligent Lord Krishna, whose head is adorned with peacock feathers, who holds a melodious flute in his hand, and who is an ocean of Kamadeva’s pastimes (arts of pleasure, like dance and music).
मनोजगर्वमोचनं विशाललोललोचनं
विधूतगोपशोचनं नमामि पद्मलोचनम् ।
करारविन्दभूधरं स्मितावलोकसुन्दरं
महेन्द्रमानदारणं नमामि कृष्णावारणम् ॥ 2 ॥
जो कामदेव को उनके अहंकार से मुक्त करते हैं, जिनकी बड़ी-बड़ी चंचल आँखें हैं और जो गोपों की चिंता दूर कर देते हैं, उन कमल-नयन कृष्ण को नमस्कार है। जिन्होंने अपने कमल हाथ से पर्वत को उठा लिया, जिनकी मुस्कुराहट आकर्षक है और जिन्होंने महान इंद्र के गर्व को नष्ट कर दिया, उन हाथी जैसे बलशाली भगवान कृष्ण को नमस्कार है।
Salutations to the lotus-eyed Krishna, who frees Kamdeva (the god of love) of his pride, who has large restless eyes, and who shakes away the gopas’ (cowherds’) sadness. Salutations to the elephant-like strong Lord Krishna, who lifted the mountain with his lotus hand, whose smiling glance is charming, and who destroyed great Indra’s pride.
कदम्बसूनकुण्डलं सुचारुगण्डमण्डलं
व्रजांगनैकवल्लभं नमामि कृष्णदुर्लभम्।
यशोदया समोदया सगोपया सनन्दया
युतं सुखैकदायकं नमामि गोपनायकम् ॥ 3 ॥
जिन्हें प्राप्त करना कठिन है, जो कदम्ब के फूलों की बालियाँ पहनते हैं, जिनके गालों पर बहुत ही आकर्षक वृत्त हैं, और जो व्रज गोपियों के एकमात्र प्रियतम हैं, उन भगवान कृष्ण को मेरा नमस्कार है। जो यशोदा, नंद और गोपों के साथ लीला का आनंद लेते हैं और उन सभी को प्रसन्न करते हैं, उन गोपों के नायक को नमस्कार है।
My salutations to Lord Krishna, who is difficult to attain, who wears the earrings of Kadamba flowers, whose cheeks have very charming circles, and who is the only beloved of Vraja’s girls. Salutations to the Chief of Gopas (cowherd boys), who enjoys pastimes in the company of Yasoda, Nanda, and the Gopas and delights them all.
सदैव पाद पङ्कजं मदीय मानसे निजं,
दधानमुत्तमालकम्, नमामि नन्द बालकम्।
समस्तदोषशोषणं समस्तलोकपोषणं,
समस्तगोपमानसं नमामि नन्द लालसम् ॥ 4 ॥
जो अपने कमल चरणों को सदैव मेरे हृदय में रखते हैं और जिनके चेहरे पर लटकते हुए घुंघराले बाल हैं, ऐसे नंद के बालक कृष्ण को मेरा नमस्कार। सभी पापों के बुरे प्रभावों को दूर करने वाले, सभी का पोषण करने वाले और सभी गोपों के चित्त में रहने वाले, प्रसन्नचित्त भगवान कृष्ण को नमस्कार है।
My salutations to Nanda’s kid Krishna, who eternally places his lotus feet in my heart and who has curls of hair falling on his face. Salutations to the cheerful Lord Krishna, who removes the bad effects of all sins, takes care of all and stays in the thoughts of all the Gopas.
भुवो भरावतारकं भवाब्धिकर्णधारकं,
यशोमती किशोरकं, नमामि चित्तचोरकम्।
दृगन्त कान्त भङ्गिनम्, सदा सदालसंगिनम्,
दिने दिने नवम् नवम् नमामि नन्द संभवम् ॥ 5 ॥
जो संसार का बोझ कम करने के लिए अवतरित हुए, जो हमें भवसागर से पार कराते हैं और जो माता यशोदा के किशोर पुत्र हैं, उन चित्त चुराने वाले कृष्ण को मेरा नमस्कार है। जो नेत्रों के कोनों से तिरछी दृष्टि डालते हैं, जो सदैव गोपियों के साथ रहते हैं और जो दिन-प्रतिदिन नई-नई लीलाओं का आनंद लेते हैं, उन नन्द के पुत्र को नमस्कार है।
My salutations to the stealer of hearts Krishna, who incarnated to reduce the world’s burden, who guides us cross the miserable ocean of life, and who is mother Yasoda’s young son. Salutations to Nanda’s son, who casts crooked glances from the corners of his eyes, who always stays with the gopis, and who enjoys newer and newer pastimes day after day.
गुणाकरं सुखाकरं कृपाकरं कृपापरं
सुरद्विषन्निकन्दनं नमामि गोपनन्दनम् ।
नवीनगोपनागरं नवीनकेलिलम्पटं
नमामि मेघसुन्दरं तडित्प्रभालसत्पटम् ॥ 6 ॥
जो गुणों, आनंद और कृपा के भंडार हैं, जो देवताओं के शत्रुओं को हराते हैं और जो सभी गोपों को प्रसन्न करते हैं, उन भगवान कृष्ण को मेरा नमस्कार। जो गोपों के युवा नायक हैं, जो हर समय नए-नए मनोरंजक लीलाओं में रुचि रखते हैं, जो बादल के समान सुंदर हैं और जिनका पीताम्बर बिजली की तरह चमकता है, ऐसे श्री कृष्ण को नमस्कार है।
My salutations to Lord Krishna, who delights all the Gopas (cowherds), who is a treasure-house of virtues, bliss and grace, and who defeats the deities’ enemies. Salutations to the one who is a young hero of the Gopas, who is interested in new funny plays every time, who is handsome like a cloud and whose yellow dress shines like lightning.
समस्तगोपनन्दनं हृदम्बुजैकमोदनं
नमामि कुञ्जमध्यगं प्रसन्नभानुशोभनम् ।
निकामकामदायकं दृगन्तचारुसायकं
रसालवेणुगायकं नमामि कुञ्जनायकम् ॥ 7 ॥
जो सभी गोपों को प्रसन्न करते हैं, जो भक्तों के कमल-हृदय को मोहित करते हैं, जो कुंजों (वन-उपवनों) में रहते हैं, और जो चमकते सूरज की तरह प्रसन्नचित्त हैं, उन भगवान कृष्ण को मेरा नमस्कार है। जो स्वयं इच्छाओं से मुक्त होते हुए भी सभी की इच्छाओं को पूरा करते हैं, जिनकी तिरछी दृष्टि आकर्षक बाण है, जिनकी बांसुरी का संगीत मधुर है, और जो कुंजों के नायक हैं, ऐसे भगवान कृष्ण को नमस्कार।

Salutations to Lord Krishna, who fulfils all desires though is free from desires himself, whose sidelong glances are charming arrows, whose flute music is sweet, and who is the hero of the forest groves.
विदग्धगोपिकामनोमनोज्ञतल्पशायिनं
नमामि कुञ्जकानने प्रव्रद्धवन्हिपायिनम् ।
किशोरकान्ति रञ्जितं दृगंजनं सुशोभितं
गजेन्द्रमोक्षकारिणं नमामि श्रीविहारिणम् ॥ 8 ॥
जो बुद्धिमती गोपियों के हृदय (मन) की आकर्षक शय्या पर विराजमान हैं, और जिन्होंने व्रज भूमि के जंगलों में लगी आग को निगल लिया, उन भगवान कृष्ण को मेरा नमस्कार। जो किशोरावस्था की दिव्य कान्ति (चमक) से देदीप्यमान हैं, जिनकी आंखें सुंदर हैं, जिन्होंने गजेंद्र को मोक्ष प्रदान किया और जो श्रीजी (लक्ष्मी जी) के साथ निवास करते हैं, उन्हें नमस्कार है।
My salutations to Lord Krishna, who reclines on the charming couch of the wise gopis’ hearts (minds), and who swallowed the fire in the forests of Vraja land.
Salutations to the one glowing with the divine radiance of adolescence, who has beautiful eyes, who granted salvation to Gajendra, and who resides with Sri ji (the goddess of wealth).
यदा तदा यथा तथा तथैव कृष्णसत्कथा
मया सदैव गीयतां तथा कृपा विधीयताम् ।
प्रमाणिकाष्टकद्वयं जपत्यधीत्य यः पुमान
भवेत्स नन्दनन्दने भवे भवे सुभक्तिमान ॥ 9 ॥
मेरी प्रार्थना है कि जब भी और जैसे भी मैं श्री कृष्ण की महिमा गाऊंगा, वे मुझ पर अपनी कृपा बरसाएंगे। जो कोई भी इन आठ प्रार्थनाओं का पाठ करेगा, वह सभी जन्मों में नंद के पुत्र (श्रीकृष्ण) के प्रति भक्ति भाव वाला रहेगा।
I pray that whenever and however I sing his glories, Sri Krishna will shower his grace on me. Whoever reads or recites these eight prayers will be fervently devoted to Nanda’s son (Lord Krishna) in all births.
